Squadron 42 - Thomas Wade
Wade is a character I worked on for Squadron 42. I worked on the head, hair and costume for this character.
The head is a scan of an actor. The scan geometry and maps were provided by a third party vendor. The assets we got were pretty good. My work on the head was to look dev and finish it. For this head most of my work was on polishing the textures and working on the eyes and eye assembly.
The hair on this character was mostly short stubble and it was done with geo from xgen. The eyelashes and brows are also geometry from xgen.
The costume on this character is an update of an asset I created a few years ago for CIG. It is a new version of the officer uniform. This uniform is meant to be clean and pressed with a minimum of wrinkles. The design feels like it’s inspired by Star Trek’s flat bridge uniforms.
In this new version, the overall construction is tighter and there is a lot more detail. Many important story characters will wear this costume and it’s meant to hold up better in cinematic head close-up shots.
This asset was done in the spring of 2022. It is a new variant of a concept originally done by Jeremiah Lee.
